The domains are extreme light, the physics of neutral or ionized diluted media (including atomic physics, molecular physics, and plasma physics), nanophysics, growth and material properties, the physics of coherence and quantum correlation (including quantum materials and topology effects), entanglement and quantum technologies, optics and photonics, complex systems and matter. PhOM teams pursue research programs in both fundamental and applied physics both experimental and theoretical, in the disciplinary field as well as in the broad interdisciplinary
